The Philippine Department of Energy (DOE) has announced potential changes in fuel prices, effective June 30. With rising tensions in the Middle East, motorists could see either a minor rollback or an increase at the pump.
Expected Price Adjustments
- Gasoline: Decrease of ₱0.10 to increase of up to ₱1.90 per liter
- Diesel: Decrease of ₱1.16 to increase of up to ₱0.84 per liter
- Kerosene: Decrease of ₱0.78 to increase of up to ₱1.22 per liter
Before these adjustments, average fuel prices in Metro Manila were ₱73.00 for gasoline RON95, ₱72.00 for gasoline RON91, ₱69.10 for diesel, and ₱97.50 for kerosene.
These shifts come after significant reductions last week, where prices fell by as much as ₱5.90 for gasoline and ₱11.04 for diesel. However, recent military conflicts have renewed fears of supply disruptions, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route for oil.
Fresh military exchanges have reignited geopolitical concerns, leading to a rebound in crude prices.

Despite last week's rollback, current prices remain elevated compared to pre-conflict levels from February 2026, when gasoline was priced at ₱56 per liter.
The Philippines, as a net importer of oil, remains susceptible to fluctuations in global oil prices, heavily influenced by geopolitical events.
