FedEx Corp. is considering additional expansion at its Clark Gateway Hub in Pampanga, driven by a surge in air cargo demand. The discussion came during a meeting between Richard W. Smith, the airline's president and CEO, and President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. at the Forbes Global CEO Conference in Singapore.

The Philippines is doing everything right.
Richard W. Smith, FedEx Airline and International President and CEO
- Clark facility expansion from 17,000 sq.m. to over 78,000 sq.m.
- Ongoing investment of $180 million discussed during APEC meeting
The current expansion is part of a $180-million investment plan initiated during discussions with President Marcos at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in November 2023. A groundbreaking ceremony occurred at Clark International Airport in May 2026, with the expanded facility expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2028.
The enhanced facility aims to improve package sorting capacity and operational efficiency, particularly for temperature-controlled cargo, vital for high-value exports. This expansion is anticipated to bolster support for Philippine businesses seeking to ship products internationally.
In addition to the Clark Gateway Hub, FedEx operates its Manila Gateway at Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, providing comprehensive logistics services across more than 220 countries and territories.
