Zambales Governor Jun Ebdane highlighted the need for stronger interregional collaboration during the 2nd Regular Business Meeting of the Luzon Regional Development Committee (LRDC) held in San Fernando City, La Union, on June 24, 2026.

The meeting, chaired by La Union Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega, convened leaders from various Luzon regions, regional directors, and representatives from government agencies to align development plans and investments.
Key agenda items included discussions on energy security, agricultural logistics, and infrastructure development.
Energy and Infrastructure Updates
Department of Energy (DOE) director Michael Sino Cruz provided an overview of Luzon's power demand and supply, highlighting the importance of infrastructure in energy management.
The committee also considered a proposal to amend the DOE circular to enable the relocation of utility poles as eligible projects under the Electrification Fund.
On agricultural logistics, the committee supported the development of port linkages to the SIDC grains terminal in Batangas to optimize logistics costs and enhance corn supply.
Additionally, projects aimed at modernizing roads and seaports under the Western-Central Nautical Highway Improvement Program were approved.
A Vision for Economic Growth
Ebdane, as chairman of RDC-3, reiterated his commitment to leveraging the LRDC platform for economic growth and infrastructure development. He stressed the need for collaboration across Luzon.
He stated, "We will strive to advance these reforms to lower electricity costs, strengthen food security, and accelerate infrastructure projects, as these are the foundation of a stable and progressive Luzon."
Ebdane was accompanied by RDC-3 co-chairman Reynato Arimbuyutan, vice chairman Nerissa Esguerra, and Zambales Provincial Planning and Development officer Emmanuel Adaoag.
