Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon is set to visit the landslide site in Sitio Marahan, Davao City, on July 23. This follows a significant landslide that occurred on July 17, which has disrupted travel along the Bukidnon-Davao Road.
Impact of the Landslide on Local Traffic
The landslide severed a key route connecting Davao City to Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro, affecting transportation between these vital regions.
Assessment and investigation are still ongoing to determine the most appropriate engineering interventions for the landslide area.

- Alternate routes in place for motorists.
Currently, only motorcycles and tricycles can cautiously navigate a narrow portion of the damaged road. All other vehicles must use alternate routes.
Motorists heading south to Davao City are advised to take the 10.4-kilometer Camp Uno–Katipunan–Datu Ladayon–Marahan route. Northbound travelers to Bukidnon and Cagayan de Oro should utilize the 5.3-kilometer Marahan–Datu Ladayon–Ladian route.
Both alternatives converge near Marahan in the Marilog District, allowing access to the national highway as road improvement efforts are underway.
The DPWH is working on traffic management strategies to alleviate congestion in the area as the situation develops.
