The national government has tasked the DOE with a one-month deadline to improve the situation. Garin confirmed that the department is collaborating with key agencies, including the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC), to mitigate the power disruptions.
She stated, 'We do not wait for an emergency declaration... We are already working on it to limit the disruptions.' This proactive approach indicates the urgency of the current energy crisis in the region.
