The Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations Inc. (CREBA) convened industry leaders and developers for the Vis-Min Regional Housing Conference on July 24 at Dusit Thani, Davao City. The focus was on promoting sustainable and affordable housing amid changing economic conditions.

Noel M. Cariño, CREBA national president, called on developers to prioritize inclusive housing solutions. He highlighted a notable shift of businesses moving to regions outside Metro Manila, particularly in Visayas and Mindanao, creating new opportunities for residential projects.

Cariño also reported on the discussions regarding reforms to the Balanced Housing Act, which aims to improve compliance for socialized housing requirements. He emphasized the need for legislative updates to the Maceda Law, which has not been significantly revised in 40 years.
The conference also marked the renewal of CREBA's partnership with the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in the U.S. This collaboration aims to enhance real estate management education through CREBA's Executive Program in Real Estate Management (EPREM) with De La Salle College of Saint Benilde.
Davao City Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte, through Councilor Diosdado Angelo Mahipus Jr., reaffirmed the local government's commitment to urban resilience and infrastructure planning, signaling a broader support framework for sustainable community development.
