The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced the temporary closure of four eastbound lanes on Commonwealth Avenue from October 24 to 25, 2026.
The affected lanes stretch from Amity Street to Ilang Ilang Street and will be closed from 11 p.m. on October 24 until 4 a.m. on October 25.
The closure is necessary for unloading and lifting escalators as part of the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7) construction.

During this period, two lanes of the service road will remain accessible, allowing some traffic to flow.
The DOTr urges the public to cooperate and understand the need for these closures, emphasizing their role in improving transportation infrastructure.
The MRT-7 project, which aims to enhance connectivity in Metro Manila, is expected to begin partial operations in 2027.
- Travel time between Quezon City and San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, is projected to be reduced to about 35 minutes.
- The railway is anticipated to serve approximately 300,000 passengers in its first operational year.
As the MRT-7 progresses, residents are reminded to stay updated on potential disruptions and contribute to a smoother transition towards a more efficient public transport system.
