The National University (NU) Bulldogs are on the verge of a historic sixth consecutive UAAP men's volleyball title following a dramatic victory over Far Eastern University (FEU) in Game 1 of the finals.
Defending champions NU came back from a shaky start to defeat FEU, 21-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-20, 15-8, on Wednesday at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
The match drew 7,498 fans, and with this win, NU is closer to claiming its eighth overall championship.
The Bulldogs had previously defeated the Tamaraws in a thrilling five-set encounter earlier this season, preventing FEU from achieving an elimination-round sweep.

Ordiales led NU with 22 points, while Disquitado and Buddin contributed significantly to the team's performance.
With the series now 1-0 in favor of NU, the Bulldogs look to clinch the championship in Game 2, scheduled for May 9.
