The Police Regional Office XI (PRO XI) is set to deploy 400 police officers to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 14.

This deployment includes personnel from regional, provincial, and city police offices, as well as members of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion. The strategy behind this mixed deployment is to maintain regular law enforcement activities across the Davao region.

Ensuring Security for a Smooth Election Process

The decision to pull out personnel from different parts of the region is meant to avoid jeopardizing regular law enforcement activities.

Maj. Ruben Gadut from the 10th Infantry Division also confirmed that a battalion will support the security efforts, consisting of approximately 400 personnel. He expressed confidence in their preparedness, stating that they have completed necessary evaluations.

The Bangsamoro elections come at a critical time, with the region's security landscape having evolved since the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in 2019. Previous elections have seen similar security preparations, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in ensuring safe electoral processes.

Details regarding the exact timing of personnel movements remain undisclosed to maintain operational security.
