The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has earmarked ₱368 million for the construction of a 5.6-kilometer road connecting Cabanatuan City to the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX).
DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon announced the funding during a project inspection with local officials, emphasizing the initiative's potential to improve regional connectivity.
The funding is part of the 2026 General Appropriations Act and will support road construction that began in 2019.
The local government has already completed significant infrastructure work, including bridges, along the proposed route.
Project Overview
The road will stretch from the Nueva Ecija–Aurora Road intersection in Barangay San Isidro to the Nueva Ecija–Cagayan Valley Road in Barangay Caalibangbangan.
Dizon praised the city’s prior efforts in road grading and paving, highlighting the collaboration between local and national government.
The current plan is to complete a two-lane concrete road by year's end, with a four-lane expansion projected for 2027.
