DDB Group Philippines has announced its transformation into GGC Group Asia, an independent creative entity, effective immediately. This strategic rebranding follows Omnicom Group’s decision to retire the DDB name worldwide by mid-2026.
A New Era for Advertising in the Philippines
GGC Group Asia moves forward with deep gratitude for our long-standing partnership with Omnicom and DDB Worldwide.
Gil G. Chua, Chairman and CEO
- DDB Group Philippines founded in 1992 in partnership with DDB Worldwide.
- The rebrand includes the renaming of several associated firms to better reflect their new identity.
Chairman and CEO Gil G. Chua expressed appreciation for the long-standing relationship with Omnicom, emphasizing that the change signifies growth and independence for the organization.
Under the GGC umbrella, the company will retain connections with Omnicom, ensuring clients benefit from extensive global marketing resources.
Expanded Services and Brand Integration
As part of the rebranding, several subsidiaries have been renamed: DDB Philippines is now Velocity+, DDB MNL has become Alab MNL, and Tribal Worldwide Philippines is now The Tribe. Other firms like Optimax Communications and Agile Intelligence will keep their existing names.
This integration brings together 14 companies across 18 offices in the Philippines, employing over 7,500 individuals, and enhances the group's capabilities beyond traditional advertising.
Commitment to Excellence Remains Unchanged
Despite the rebranding, GGC Group Asia assures clients that leadership, operations, and relationships will remain stable. All existing contracts and agreements are still in effect.
Previously, DDB Group Philippines garnered numerous awards for its innovative campaigns, including the country's first Cannes Lions Grand Prix. GGC Group Asia aims to build on this legacy while venturing into a new chapter.
